Thanks To Cannon Design

February 27, 2008

Congrats go out to Cannon Design’s Vancouver and Victoria offices. They’re making the switch away from disposable whiteboard markers and are now using the AusPen eco-friendly markers, which will have a positive impact on their office environment (reducing toxicity), but also will reduce waste in the Victoria and Vancouver landfills.

95% Concerned

February 27, 2008

We were surfing Treehugger.com today and saw an article that stated new research shows 95% of kids between the ages of 4 and 15 questioned were ‘concerned’ by global warming, with more than half describing themselves as being ‘very concerned’.

That is an amazing percentage and very encouraging…hopefully those type of numbers spread and this bodes well for the future.

Penfill Not Landfill

February 27, 2008

“Penfill, Not Landfill” is one of the motto’s of our AusPen eco-friendly markers. The AusPen markers do not end up in local landfills, they are made form recycled material and they are refillable. So when you use these markers, you can be proud of the fact you are no longer contributing non-biodegradeable waste into the landfill, as is the case with disposable markers.

Did You Know?

February 21, 2008

  • Disposable whiteboard markers are one of the top sources of toxic waste for local schools and offices.
  • Disposable whiteboard markers use xylene, a very harmful chemical, significantly increasing the toxicity of classrooms and all workspaces.
  • Disposable whiteboard markers clog our local landfills with toxic chemicals and millions of PVC cylinders that will never biodegrade.
  • North American teachers will throw out over 500 million whiteboard markers into their local landfills.
